Reduced-representation NGS methods in phylogenomics and biogeography: RADseq & RNAseq |
|
Veranstaltungstyp: Blockveranstaltung |
Beschreibung: Reduced-representation methods allow genome wide detection of genetic markers without sequencing the whole genome. Restriction-digest methods (RADseq, GBS), RNAseq, Chloroplast sequencing and amplicon sequencing are the most common reduced-representation methods. We will analyze a RADseq dataset using the python-based program pyRAD and we will use this dataset and a RNAseq dataset for phylogenetic reconstruction and compare the results with phylogenetic studies based on Sanger sequencing. Case studies of all four groups of methods will be discussed. |
