Voraussetzungen	Requirements: Regular attendance and active participation. Out-of-class background reading will be set each week as an essential part of the course. Students will document their learning process with a portfolio. A 1-2 page entry is due every other week so that feedback can be provided continually throughout the course. Final deadline of the portfolio is 24.02.2024. An obligatory one-hour tutorial is paired with the course. The tutorials take place in the second half of the week. Prospective students must choose one of the tutorials and register for it via StudIP.

Kommentar/Beschreibung

This course provides basic guidelines for teaching English as a foreign language in schools. Individual sessions will be devoted to the role of the teacher, the language learner, teaching methods and learning theories, task-based language teaching, teaching grammar, vocabulary, listening and speaking, reading and writing skills, testing, feedback and correction, and the use of media and literary texts in foreign language classes.

Registration via StudIP starts on September 1st at 8.00. The number of participants is restricted to 25 students.
