Comment/Description

Course book: Matlab for Neuroscientists, by Wallisch et al., Academic Press, 2009 (excerpts available as PDF for course participants)

This course will provide an introduction to the Matlab programming environment as a versatile tool in system neuroscience research. Students will be introduced to the basic principles in Matlab programming (see course homepage for detail). The course will be held as a combination of lecture plus tutorial. Lectures will provide theoretical background. Tutorials will provide opportunity to present and discuss the students" solutions to the practical exercises which were conducted independently as homework. Practical exercises will include analysis and graphical processing of test data sets.

For participants of the short methods course, submission of homework and exam participation are optional.
Participants may opt to upgrade to a full methods course by submitting weekly homework exercises and successfully completing the written exam at the end of the course.
